Description: Intermittently Volcano National Park has active lava flows, a real treat to visit when they do. Just remember, lava flows where it wants, not necessarily where its conventient! Sometimes it may be a couple miles of walking over barren, uneven, abrasize lava rock to get to where the flows are. And once there they need a respectful distance while viewing - given the unseen underground lava tubes and their potential for collapse warrants that caution!
