Title: Signal 542 and Manz Loft by Peter DeCamp ( 010)

Signal 542 and Manz Loft
Description: Manz Corporation, Engravers-Printers. "Any size job is a Manz size job." The Manz building was originally built in steps from 1910-1930 for Manz Corp. They grew to occupy the entire building which, at its largest, extended an entire block. With the decline in manufacturing in Chicago in the 1960s and deterioration of the surrounding neighborhood, Manz Corp. vacated the building and relocated to the suburbs. The building fell into disrepair and some parts of it were sold off. The building became a run-down multi-tenant industrial building until the year 2000 when it became largely vacant and now languishes in litigation.
